The band

Consurge is the new and upcoming indie rock band ready to expose themselves to the world from their living room sofa in Hull. Deeply rooted by their memories of growing up throwing stones at abandoned bottles of beer, and avoiding coppers who hunted loitering teenagers, the guys have certainly come along way since then. World. Consider this warning.

Jay Martel

Front man of the band Jay met his best mate Al in a local pub on an open mic night, a few drinks later they performed some Rock classics and this is where the band formed, after Al suggested his brother Hari could join as they needed a drummer the band we now see was formed. Like the other boys in the band he grew up in Hull and first picked up a  guitar aged 12 and self-taught himself the instrument. From the age of 13 Jay hasn’t not been in a band and hopes his latest musical exploits with Al and Hari for Consurge excites fans, gets their feet moving and urges them to challenge themselves and be strong with what they believe in.

Al Price

In his own words ‘the Bassist and the badassist’. He has played bass for 8 years although he wasn’t new to how to make music having been taught classical cello since 7. Having struggled with everyday interaction when young he found music was a way to escape his daily struggles of social awkwardness. When he met Jay he was amazed by his confidence and found his passion for music and making a change to those around him had a strong effect on him and now he has created something which he is proud of and hopes he isn’t too awkward when meeting people during their upcoming UK tour.

Hari Price

Younger brother to Al he had just finished a university degree in English language and had aspirations of being a poet and when his brother asked him to join the band he didn’t think it would take off as it has, and says the closest he has come to a real job is doing Saturdays at a leisure centre in Brighton where he helped run a family owned sweet shop. Having just finished University Hari had a range of contacts one who stands out is James who is currently a producer for BBC Radio London and this contact helped to give the band a bit of exposure when Take Aim was played to the English capital.

Sediment

This is the band’s adopted pet called Sediment and they have been in the studio with the band throughout the recording of the bands debut album. Front man Jay first encountered this rare species while visiting the Channel Islands, washed on the shore. It was a perfect match as Jay walked along the Beach known as Vazon. He felt a strong connection and knew his bandmates would too and during the bands upcoming tour the rocks will be seen throughout the show.
